How about audio?
Ask if they use wireless (sometimes
called "radio") microphones to record the ceremony. It will be attached
to the grooms lapel (also sometimes on the clergy) and is necessary to capture crystal clear,
hi-fidelity audio from the bride and groom during the exchange of the vows and rings. Mic's
should also be placed on the podium where any readers, speakers, or soloists
will be. Also, do they record from the church or venues in-house PA system?
If the audio is not being recorded from all the places that sound is
emanating from during the ceremony, important aspects of the wedding will be
missed.
We use state-of-the-art audio recording
equipment. A microphone on the groom, a mic on the podium, and we also mic the
choir loft or balcony if that's where the organist or soloist is. We record
from no less than 3 locations on every wedding.
Who is going to shoot your wedding
video?
Some video businesses have many
videographers working for them so be certain that the person you meet with
is the person that is going to shoot your wedding. Also make sure the video
samples you see are the work of that person. You may meet with the owner and
see his work then
come to find out after it's too late that someone else is shooting your
wedding. There's not anything wrong with that necessarily as long as that
person is qualified. The owner may have 20 years of experience but a
part-time, once-in-a-while videographer who has a few months experience could be the
one that shows up at your wedding!
At Hartman Productions, the owner shoots
and edits all weddings with the assistance of another videographer who
operates the second camera. And the second camera operator is the same
person on every wedding, so any and all video samples you see of our work
are from those two people.
Does the price quoted include an
edited, finished video?
Ask specific questions about what you are
getting for your money. Some businesses will give you a price for
videotaping your wedding and that is exactly what you get -
videotaping at your wedding! The price may not include editing, titles,
music, or even a video tape or dvd of the wedding!
At Hartman Productions we don't play
those games. The prices listed for our packages include an edited, finished
video presentation on DVD! The video has music and titles added at no
additional charge!
These are just a few suggestions you
should take into consideration when comparing videographers for your
wedding. Please contact us if you have any
questions.
